4 Guides make their new Promise @ the Dubbo ZooNew Guides make Promise in front of the Cheetah @ Dubbo Zoo.JPG

We are delighted to welcome 4 new Guides to the Coonabarabran Gumnut Guide Unit – Hannah Sutherland, Ruby Connell, Tully Andrews and Sophie Bunting. This is particularly exciting as these 4 Guides were the first in the unit to join Guiding in Coonabarabran making the new Australian Guide Promise. The Taronga Western Plains Zoo Cheetah watched on in the background as the girls made their Promise and all the Guides and Guide Leaders present proudly said the new Promise with them.

Waratah and Gumnut Guides from Coonabarabran joined Guides from across the region to donate much needed funds for the Tasmanian Devil Breeding program and to have a fun day out exploring the zoo. We got to see a number of Tassie Devils, which not open to the public, and find out about how the Taronga Western Plains Zoo is part of a broader range program to prevent the extinction of this fascinating creature.

At this Central West Region gathering Guides who have achieved major Guiding Awards during the year are presented with Certificates. On the day Jemma Tilborghs was presented with her Bronze Endeavour Award by Region Leader Yvonne MacRae. (Olivia Tilborghs and Grace Colantonio also earned the Bronze Endeavour Award but were not present o
